Risk, rigour, and focus are at play in the space between our three bodies as we move through a series of movements, shapes, and tasks. We continually as ourselves and each other: how slowly can we move?

iii is a living sculpture. As such, we invite you as witnesses to come and go from the work as you choose.

Choreographer: Barbara Simms

Dancers: Barbara Simms, Kiah Francis, Sophia Hassenstein, Simon Mazziotti (original cast member)

Music composition: Toumani Diabate

Costume Design: Brayden Jamil Cairns

This work is steeped in collaboration, and is as much mine as it is the dancers’. Huge thanks also to Kéïta Fournier-Pelletier and Eilish Shin-Culhane for their care as outside eyes and choreographic support for this work.

iii was made possible by the generous support of CreativAction’s Open Space Program, Frog in Hand’s residency programming, and Canada Council for the Arts.
